What is a Fast Charging Station for Electric Vehicles?
It is an infrastructure element that provides electric energy for charging the batteries of electric vehicles. Electric vehicle owners need electric vehicle charging units (Eşarj) where they can charge their vehicle batteries. Eşarj stations that can be used publicly are being established across 81 provinces in Turkey, and the number of these stations is gradually increasing. At the same time, electric vehicle charging units can be installed in individuals' homes for personal use. The procedures and principles regarding investments to support the establishment of fast charging stations for electric vehicles, which have a high economic impact level and the potential to accelerate development in multiple sectors, are regulated. The technological product investment support program aims to support investment projects for technological products and investment projects for the establishment of high-speed charging stations for electric vehicles resulting from R&D and innovation projects focused on industry.
What is the Cost of Installing an Electric Vehicle Charging Station?
If you think that multiple charging units will be needed for electric charging stations, the cost of installing a fast charging station will range between 500,000 TL and 3 million TL. The state provides grants and incentives to increase the installation and number of charging stations in our country.
How to Obtain an Electric Vehicle Charging Station Dealership?
Businesses that want to open and operate a charging station for electric vehicles in our country must first apply to the EPDK for a 'Charging Network Operator License.' Then, they must obtain a work opening license for the establishment of the charging station from the relevant administration in the location where the stations will be installed, or add it as a secondary activity to an existing license.
After the necessary legal procedures are completed, a company must meet the licensing conditions to become a charging network operator. Among the licensing requirements is the provision of an appropriate number and quality of electric vehicle charging units and the establishment of suitable infrastructure for installation. Finally, the charging service provided must be designed in accordance with the 'Charging Service Regulation' established by the EPDK, and seamless digital infrastructure must be ensured.

Important Considerations When Applying for Support and Incentives for Fast Charging Stations
• It is essential for the investor eligible for support for the investment subject to carry out the installation of all units in the specified total quantity.
• A guarantee letter of 250,000 TL must be submitted in applications.
• Procedures are carried out with an e-signature, and a work opening license must be held.
• Operational expense support will not be provided for projects.
• For machines and equipment purchased using the support program, a restriction on not being sold, rented, or transferred for the 3-year period will be applied as 1 year, provided that the place and purpose of use of the machines and equipment do not change.
• The support duration for investment projects that will receive machine and equipment support has been determined as a maximum of 36 months starting from the contract signing date between the Ministry of Industry and the business. If deemed appropriate, an additional period of up to 6 months may be granted once.
Regulation of Electric Vehicle Charging Stations
In the regulation published for Electric Charging Stations, the legal entities that can apply must also be established as joint-stock or limited companies. In addition, the minimum capital amount determined by the EPDK for applications made by legal entities other than public economic enterprises is set at 4,500,000 TL. The license duration is limited to 49 years. A charging network operator who obtains a license must establish a network of at least 50 charging units in at least 5 different districts within 6 months from the enforcement of the license.
