What is the Advanced Entrepreneurship Support Program?

KOSGEB has established a separate platform to support people who are entrepreneurs or have an entrepreneurial idea. With this initiative by KOSGEB, the concept of advanced entrepreneurship has entered our lives. KOSGEB classifies entrepreneurship into two categories: "traditional entrepreneurship" and "advanced entrepreneurship." The initially mentioned, that is, "traditional entrepreneurship," consists of ventures that are far from technology and frequently encountered.

For example, starting a clothing store can be given as an example of traditional entrepreneurship. On the other hand, "advanced entrepreneurship" refers to ventures whose entrepreneurial ideas are technology-based. KOSGEB provides incentives for both types of entrepreneurship. However, it has designated technology-related and promising ventures as advanced entrepreneurship.

What Sectors Does Advanced Entrepreneurship Support?

Advanced entrepreneurship is a concept introduced by KOSGEB. The most significant feature that distinguishes advanced entrepreneurship from traditional entrepreneurship is that advanced entrepreneurship is technology-based. In the first of the sectors supported by KOSGEB, mining and stone quarrying is included. Related units are also included. For example, lignite mining and crude oil extraction fall under this category. The manufacturing sector is also one of the sectors included in the support group.

Groups related to the manufacturing sector can include food product manufacturing and sunflower oil production. The electricity, gas, steam, and air conditioning production and distribution sector is also one of the sectors included in the KOSGEB support group. What is the Use of the Advanced Entrepreneurship Certificate?

KOSGEB provides grants to candidates who meet the necessary conditions. This grant is given to support and incentivize entrepreneurs. However, to receive this grant, you must meet the necessary conditions. A large number of people apply for these grants, so a few individuals must be selected from among them. KOSGEB has set some conditions to make this selection. One of these is that candidates must hold an advanced entrepreneurship certificate. If you have completed the requirements for advanced entrepreneurship, you can apply for the KOSGEB grant with your advanced entrepreneurship certificate. With the advanced entrepreneurship document, you can obtain the necessary grant from KOSGEB and start your own business.

How Much is the Advanced Entrepreneurship Support?

The amount of advanced entrepreneurship support varies depending on the field and also changes from year to year. The advanced entrepreneurship grant ranges from 100,000 TL to 300,000 TL. However, it is necessary to have met the pre-established conditions to obtain these grants. Advanced entrepreneurship is distinct from traditional entrepreneurship. Therefore, the amounts of grants provided may also differ. Since advanced entrepreneurship falls under the entrepreneurship category related to technology, the grant amount may vary.

How to Obtain an Advanced Entrepreneurship Certificate?

The advanced entrepreneurship certificate will be quite useful for entrepreneurial candidates, but first, it is mandatory to take advanced entrepreneurship training. However, there are certain conditions to be met to take advanced entrepreneurship training. One of the conditions to take advanced entrepreneurship training is to have completed traditional entrepreneurship training. After enrolling in this training, your registration is canceled after 3 months. If you do not complete the training within this 3 months, you will need to re-enroll in the courses.

Who is Considered an Advanced Entrepreneur?

To be considered an advanced entrepreneur, you first need to meet specific criteria set by KOSGEB. If you are actively engaged in entrepreneurship at a low, medium, or advanced technology level, you are considered an advanced entrepreneur. There are several conditions to meet to become an advanced entrepreneur. When you qualify as a candidate for all these conditions and have completed both traditional entrepreneurship training and advanced entrepreneurship training, you will receive your advanced entrepreneurship certificate and be considered an advanced entrepreneur.

What Does KOSGEB Advanced Entrepreneurship Cover?

KOSGEB generally encompasses technology-based projects within the scope of advanced entrepreneurship. The main goal of entrepreneurship projects supported by KOSGEB is to provide support to entrepreneurs in strategically prioritized areas in Turkey, promoting promising projects. For this reason, advanced entrepreneurship can encompass almost all of these projects. To receive KOSGEB entrepreneurial credit, you must go through certain stages. Generally, advanced entrepreneurship covers projects that manufacture, i.e., production. It also encompasses entrepreneurial projects that are involved in any activity related to advanced technology. Since advanced technology is a promising project for the future, KOSGEB has included this topic in the advanced entrepreneurship group and provided a separate grant.

How Many Hours is Advanced Entrepreneurship Training?

To obtain the KOSGEB advanced entrepreneurship certificate, several steps must be taken. The first can be said to be obtaining the necessary documents. To obtain these documents, you must have completed the required trainings. For advanced entrepreneurship training, you first need to have completed traditional entrepreneurship training. If you have taken courses in entrepreneurship at university, you can have these credited. Advanced entrepreneurship courses last 4 days and 32 hours. That is, it is completed in 4 days at 8 hours per day. Advanced entrepreneurship trainings are given by a single instructor. The entrepreneurship trainings provided by KOSGEB are free, meaning you can benefit from these courses without paying any fees.

Advanced Entrepreneurship 2023 Supports

As in 2022, various supports will be provided in 2023 under the scope of the Advanced Entrepreneurship program. These supports include Company Establishment Support, Machinery, Equipment, and Software Support, Performance Support, Consulting and Business Coaching Support, and Certificate Support.

Company Establishment Support

Within the scope of advanced entrepreneurship, individuals wishing to establish a sole proprietorship receive 5,000 TL for company establishment, while those wishing to establish a capital company receive 10,000 TL in company establishment support.

Machinery, Equipment, and Software Support

For the expenses related to machinery and equipment purchased and software license fees or time-limited license usage fees concerning the activities supported for businesses, up to 75% of the expenditure amount is provided as non-repayable support, excluding taxes.

The maximum support limit for Machinery, Equipment, and Software Support is 100,000 TL. If the business operates at a medium-high technology level, it is supported up to 200,000 TL. This rate is 300,000 TL for businesses operating at a high technology level.

NOTE: For machinery, equipment, and software support that have a certificate of local production, the support rate is applied as 90%.

Performance Support

Performance support is provided based on the number of premium days calculated for personnel employed under the Social Security Institution 4(a) of the businesses. This support is provided at the end of the first and second years. At the end of the second year, the total support amount can reach up to 50,000 TL.

At the end of the first year, the business;
• If it has a premium day count between 180-539, it receives 5,000 TL in performance support.
• If it has a premium day count between 540-1079, it receives 10,000 TL in performance support.
• If it has a premium day count of 1080 and above, it receives 20,000 TL in performance support.

At the end of the second year, the business;
• If it has a premium day count between 360-1079, it receives 5,000 TL in performance support.
• If it has a premium day count between 1080-1439, it receives 15,000 TL in performance support.
• If it has a premium day count of 1440 and above, it receives 20,000 TL in performance support.

Certificate Support

Within the scope of Classified Businesses, businesses operating under the dangerous and very dangerous status can receive up to 1,000 TL per certificate and a total of up to 5,000 TL for vocational and technical certificates that are compatible with their field of activity.

Consulting and Business Coaching Support

Businesses operating in medium-high and high technology fields within the scope of classified businesses are supported at a rate of 75% for expenses related to consulting and business coaching services that have started and been completed during the support program. The upper limit of non-repayable support is 10,000 TL.

Who is Considered an Advanced Entrepreneur?

• Individuals must complete advanced entrepreneurship training before establishing their businesses.
NOTE: Advanced entrepreneurship training is not compulsory for businesses located in İŞGEM and TEKMER.
• The business must have been established within a maximum of 1 year in the past.
• Individuals must be either real or legal persons.
• The individual's founding partner share in the business must be over 50%.
• Businesses can only benefit from advanced entrepreneurship support once.
• Individuals or capital companies engaged in technology production and investment can apply to the Advanced Entrepreneurship program.

NOTE: Businesses and entrepreneurs benefiting from the Entrepreneurship Development Support Program, Entrepreneurship Support Program, and Traditional Entrepreneur Support Programs cannot benefit from this support.
